Proudly serving the families of our fallen heros.

Who We Are

The CIA Officers Memorial Foundation is an independent charitable organization dedicated exclusively to supporting the well-being and educational needs of eligible children and spouses of fallen and injured officers.

Mission

The CIA Officers Memorial Foundation's sacred promise is to honor the sacrifice of CIA officers by providing individualized support to their children and spouses. We are steadfast in our long-term commitment to help every eligible spouse and child in our program achieve their fullest potential, from daycare to dream job.

Vision

Our vision is to support eligible families by relieving financial stress, encouraging educational and career opportunities, and providing a touchpoint with the great organization in which their loved ones honorably served.

Where It All Began

The CIA Officers Memorial Foundation was created in December 2001 to honor CIA officer Johnny Micheal Spann, the first American killed in the line of duty in Afghanistan responding to the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001 and all those CIA officers who gave their last full measure in service to the Nation since the founding of the Central Intelligence Agency.

George Tenet, Jeffrey H. Smith, Richard Helms, and Jack Downing establish the CIA Officers Memorial Foundation to honor Mike Spann’s devotion to his country and that of the other CIA officers who came before him and those who sadly were certain to follow.
